Estherville – Services for Duane “Buck” Robinson, 68, of Estherville, will be held February 7, 1994 at the Henry-Olson-Furhman Funeral Home in Estherville beginning at 2 p.m. with Reverend David Wendel officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery with full military grave side services conducted by the V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91, both of Estherville. He died February 5, 1994 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Estherville.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born on October 29, 1925, in Schaller, the son of Leslie and Julie (Voss) Robinson. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1944. He entered the United States Navy after high school and was stationed in the Pacific. Following the war, he returned to Estherville and attended Estherville Junior College. He then attended the University of South Dakota at Brookings, S.D., graduating with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Agriculture. He was then employed instructing farmers on the G.I. Bill He was later employed by the City of Estherville for over 20 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Foreign Wars Post 3388 in Estherville.
He was survived by two sisters, Virgil Knox of Estherville and Mrs. Arlowe (LaVonne) Hansen of Fenton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 7, 1994)
