Estherville – Services for Mrs. Ruth Jeannette Roach, 88, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. t Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. Dr. John Besore III of the Estherville First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Thursday, March 8, 1990 at Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Sept. 2, 1901 at Dunlap, Ill., the daughter of John and Myrtle (Byers) Rogers and moved to Emmet County in 1912 and attended Estherville schools. Following her marriage July 16, 1917 to Bennie Roach in Emmet County, the couple farmed. She had been employed by Butterfield Produce and Birney Drug. In 1963 the couple retired from farming and she then served as Matron at the Emmet County farm for six years. She was a 50 year member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons: Mervin of Spirit Lake and Benny of Joplin, Mo., three daughters: Myrtle Grems and Mrs. Richard (Joan) Dahl, Estherville and Mrs. Gene (Ellen) Moore, Wallingford; 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother, Leslie Rogers, Hartley.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; parents; two grandchildren and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 10, 1990)
