Services Held at Estherville for Roy Resh
Roy Resh, 74, longtime resident of the Estherville and Armstrong areas, died Nov. 7, at Holy Family hospital in Estherville. Funeral services were held Nov. 9 at Union Baptist Church in Estherville and burial was in Eastside cemetery at Estherville.
Roy Edwin Resh was born Dec. 7, 1890, [per cemetery record, Dec. 8] at Mount Morris, Ill., the son of John Martin and Martha Resh. He moved with his family to Emmetsburg where he received his education.
He was married Nov. 9, 1923, to Mary Ann Griffin at Armstrong and since that time the couple had lived there until moving to Estherville.
For 10 years, Mr. Resh was employed by the Hill Packing Co., and for the past seven years he had been manager of the Hill Livestock Horse-buying Station.
Surviving Mr. Resh’s death are his widow; two sons, Roy of Bettendorf and John of Windom, Minn.; one daughter, Joan Resh of Estherville; eight grandchildren; a brother, Harry of Richmond, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Graybill of Freeport, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dan of Graettinger, and one sister. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, November 18, 1965)
