Estherville – Funeral services for Axel Fred Peterson, 87, rural Estherville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville. The Rev. Harvey Throop of the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville, will officiate. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the unreal home until the time of services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, Mr. Peterson was born Aug. 30, 1890, in Joliet, Ill. He was educated in Illinois. Mr. Peterson remained single his entire life.

He moved to the Ringsted area in 1915. In 1948 he moved to a farm north of Estherville where he lived and farmed since that time. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville.

Mr. Peterson is survived by one brother, Cuyler Peterson, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Helmers, both of Estherville; two nephews, five nieces and 13 great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, one nephew and one niece. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 27, 1977)
