Estherville – Henry B. Petersen, 78, Lake Benton, Minn., formerly of Estherville, died in Ivanhoe, Minn. after six months of illness ,[November 2, 1977]. Services were held in Taylor, Minn. at 10 a.m. in the Lutheran Church, Saturday, Nov. 5.

A graveside service was held at the East Side Cemetery, Estherville, Saturday afternoon at 2:30.

Born [May 20, 1899] near Taylor, [Tyler, Lincoln Co.] Minn., he moved to Iowa, where as a young man he married Christine Johnson of Humbolt. Later he and his wife moved to Emmet county where he farmed until retirement and was a caretaker at East Side Cemetery.

He is survived by a son, Donald J. Petersen, Estherville; five grandchildren; his second wife, Sarah; one brother, Knut Petersen, Lake Benton, Minn.; and a sister, Elsie Hercherber, Luverne, Minn.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, five brothers, a sister and one grandchild. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 7, 1977)
