C.T. Petersen Dies Thursday
Chris T. Petersen, 84, died at his home at 718 North Seventh Street shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 1972, after lingering illness.

He was born Feb. 14, 1888, at Jeoslev, Denmark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sorenson. He received his education in Denmark and came to Emmet County in 1909.

He was married on Aug. 29, 1913, to Martina Thomsen of Estherville. He worked for Harker-Bauman Lumber Co. and was self-employed for many years.

He was a member of the Christian Church and Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Martina, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Smith of San Diego, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville, with the Rev. Carl Miller officiating. Burial will be East Side cemetery. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home from 7 p.m. Saturday until time of services Monday afternoon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 31, 1972)
