Elma Moore
Estherville – Services for Elma Moore, 90, of Estherville will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Kroona officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Moore died Friday, July 7, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Elma Rocelia Moore was born to Hans and Gertrude (Swenson) Enderson on November 18, 1898 near Marathon, Iowa. She attended Spencer schools. On December 22, 1915 she married William Moore in Terril. After their marriage, they made their home near Terril where they farmed in Dickinson County. In 1945 they moved to Harrison, Ark. They returned to this area in the early 1950’s and made their home in Estherville. Mr. Moore died in the summer of 1959. Elma entered the Good Samaritan Center in 1966. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and the Gold Star Mothers.

Survivors include a son Willard Moore of Estherville; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Sevatson of Spirit Lake; a brother, Howard Enderson of Tracy, Minn.; three sisters: Mrs. Helen Christensen of Springfield, Ore., Mrs. Alida Rierson of Fontana, Calif. and Mrs. Doris Sheldon of Mobridge, S.D.; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Leonard who died in WWII. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 10, 1989)
