Byron, Minn. – Marjorie (Mitchell) M. Bethke, 67, died Sunday, June 28, 1992 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church at Byron. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester.

She was born Jan. 4, 1925 at Ringsted, the daughter of George and Virgie Meiners. She married Robert K. Mitchell, May 20, 1945 at Gruver. In 1963 she moved to Stewartsville, Minn. from Graettinger. Mitchell died in 1972. On Jan. 5, 1974 she married Lester F. Bethke at Rochester, Minn., they moved to Rochester and later to rural Byron in 1977. She was a retired Rochester Public School system employee. She was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lester, Byron; two daughters: Dianne Hanenberger, Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Donna Wilkerson, Rochester; four grandchildren; seven step-daughters; nine step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and a brother Jerry Meiners. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 1, 1992)
