Jackson, Minn. – Funeral services for Glenn Wesley Maddux, 86, of Jackson, Minn. will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died on Friday, January 24 at the Good Samaritan Center in Jackson, Minn.Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today, Monday, January 27 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born on September 9, 1910 in Lewis, the son of Oscar and Letha (Russell) Maddux. He received his education in the Lewis and Griswald schools graduating from Exira High School in 1932. He moved to the Estherville area in 1934 and worked for local farmers for several years. He later drove a milk truck and gravel truck until 1942 when he began working for Tobin Packing. He was united in marriage to Golda Lee Sayers in Jackson, Minn. on November 25, 1945. He worked for John Morrell and Company until his retirement in 1970. The couple lived in Texas for seven years until 1979 when they moved to Jackson. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Petersburg, Minn.
He is survived by one sister, Rachel Peterson of Bellingham, Wash.; two nephews, two nieces an several grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in December of 1981, his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 27, 1997)
