Mary Reese
Estherville – Memorial services and a celebration of life of Mary Reese, 71, of Glendale, Ariz. will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 at Grandview Baptist Church in Estherville. She died on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at her home in Glendale.

She was born Mary Margaret Sayers on May 8, 1932, the daughter of Paul and Golda [Lee] Sayers.

She married Carl John Feddersen in 1947. They had five children together before Carl passed away in 1966.

In 1971 she married Gary Allen Reese and they owned and operated Reese Trucking until Gary’s death in 1998. They had a summer home in Ruthven, next to Gary’s parents Carol and Melvin Reese and spent winters in Glendale.

Mary’s last home was with her oldest daughter, Carla and her husband, David Ramsey. Her children also included Connie and husband, Bill Reed of Surprise, Ariz., daughter Cheryl Septer of Shelby, daughter Christi and husband, Phil McCormick of Clear Lake and son Michael Feddersen and wife, Tammy of Surprise.

Her parents, step-father and both husbands preceded Mary in death.

Left to cherish her memory are those children; her sister, Shirley and husband Marcus Papke of Glendale and sister Linda Rogers and her son, Jack of Sioux City; two brothers, Paul Sayers and his wife, Delores of Des Moines and Jack Sayers and his wife, Carolyn of Brooklyn Center, Minn. Mary had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren at this time.

She was cremated in Arizona and her remains will be buried next to Gary at Ellington Cemetery in Mallard at a private cemetery for the family at a later time. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 4, 2003)
