Estherville – Services for Golda Maddux, 71, formerly of the Estherville and Wallingford areas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville. She died Tuesday [December 22, 1981] in an Albert City nursing home. Rev. Dan Swanson will officiate. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 20, 1910 in Grant City, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Rosella [Sarah Rosella Benson] Lee. She received her education in the Grant City schools. She married Glen Maddux on Nov. 25, 1945 at Jackson.

She is survived by her husband Glen of Jackson; two sons Paul Sayers, Des Moines and Jack Sayers, Fridley, Minn.; two daughters: Mrs. Gary (Mary) Reese, Albert City, Ia. and Mrs. Marcus (Shirley [Rogers]) Papke, Spring City, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Ada Jarvis, Sac City and Mrs. Elizabeth Norton, Port Orchard, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 24, 1981)
