Estherville – Services for Roy R. Lyle, 66, Estherville, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church here with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Lyle died Tuesday [May 1, 1979] morning at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 10 a.m. Thursday and at the church prior to services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lyle, he was born Sept. 15, 1912, at Sheldon and as married to Phyllis Beck on Sept. 16, 1938, at Armstrong.

He lived most of his life in Emmet County, where he was employed by the Northern Lumber Company in Estherville for 15 years and as manager of Graves Grain Company, Huntington, for 27 years. He retired in July, 1977.

He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and deacon.

Mr. Lyle is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Estherville; one son, Royce Lyle, Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Lynette) Westcott, Mason City; and one brother, Ray Lyle, Ludington, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 2, 1979)
