Estherville – Funeral services for Leah Lee, 85, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 10, 1998 at the Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Jane Johnson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Sat. Feb. 7, at Holy Family Health Services in Estherville.Visitation will be held today, Monday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1913 in Rockwell City, the daughter of Fred and Ethel (McDermott) Fessler. She received her education in the rural schools in Palo Alto County.
On Feb. 1, 1931, she was united in marriage to Elmer Lee in Estherville. The couple lived in Kossuth and Emmet counties before moving to Estherville in 1946. She was employed by the Pantry Café, Majestic Café and Kinnard’s Dairy. Mr. Lee died in January of 1968.
She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and volunteered many hours at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.
She is survived by sons, Delmer Lee of Omaha, Neb.; Eldon Lee of Marion, Lonnie Lee of Madison, Minn.; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one granddaughter, her parents, three brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 9, 1998)
