Dolliver – Services for Irvin Lloyd Knutson, 78, will be held Thursday, at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastors Kermin Rye and Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, Aug. 7, 1989 at his home.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m.

He was born Aug. 4, 1911 at Armstrong, he son of Silas and Caroline Knutson, and received his education in Armstrong and Seneca Schools, graduating in 1929. On Feb. 23, 1941 he was united in marriage with Opal Holland at Odin, Minn. The couple farmed at Williams, Iowa following their marriage, later moving to Butterfield, Minn. and in 1950 to Dolliver where they continued to farm until retiring in 1966. He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and had been a longtime member of Palestine Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Opal, rural Dolliver; two daughter: Mrs. John (Carolyn) Walz, Estherville and Mrs. Richard (Patricia) Wilson, Aurora, Ill.; three grandchildren; one brother Homer, Sergeant Bluff; one sister Mrs. Keith (Elveda) Ross, Spirit Lake; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 8, 1989)
