Thomas (Ed) Kinnard
Estherville – Services for Thomas E. (Ed) Kinnard, 82, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Sunday, May 21, 1989 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday.

He was born June 19, 1906 at Estherville, the son of Thomas and Anna (Harstad) Kinnard, and attended Estherville Schools. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad before his marriage to Opal Brown, Sept. 5, 1925 at Jackson, Minn. After marriage he worked at Golden Sun Feeds. The couple moved to Ruthton, Minn. where he operated a café until his wife’s death Oct. 6, 1946. He has been a resident at Rosewood Manor since Jan. 11, 1985. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Marvin (Irene) Cooklin and Mrs. Merrill (Marsha) Sunde, both of Estherville and Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Garrelts, Aurora, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister William and Robert Kinnard and Mrs. Lillian Hanson, all of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. (Estherville Spirit, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1989)
