Estherville – Funeral services for Adeline Charlson, 81, of Estherville will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Gruver with Pastor Jack Torgerson officiating. Interment will be at the Swan Lake Township Cemetery, Estherville [Gruver]. She died on September 29, 1999 at Rosewood Manor, Estherville.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on July 2, 1918 in Emmet County, the daughter of Adolph and Inger (Quastad) Olson. She received her education in the country schools of Emmet County and from Maple Hill, graduated from Maple Hill High School and attended Waldorf College in Forest City.

On August 27, 1938 she was united in marriage to Carroll Charlson at the Wallingford Lutheran Church Parsonage, Wallingford. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Fenton, Ledyard, Swea City, Forest City and Buffalo Center before moving to a farm east of Estherville in 1957, where they farmed for 30 years. Carroll died on July 9, 1987. She has been a resident of Rosewood Manor since 1989.

She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Gruver.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Blanche Benson and husband of Forest City; one brother-in-law, Russell Charlson and wife of Buffalo Center and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Adolph and Inger. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 1, 1999)
