Estherville – Services for Miss Tilla Hanson, 93, of Estherville will be held Tuesday, April 5, at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Chapel in Estherville, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Arlyn Norris will officiate. Interment will be held a Swan Lake Cemetery in Gruver. She died April 2, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born June 11, 1900 in Thor, Ia., the daughter of John and Martha (Larson) Hanson. She received her education in the country schools of Webster County and attended Waldorf College. Following college she moved to Chicago, Ill. where she received training to become a seamstress. In the early 1930’s she moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she was employed as a professional designer and seamstress. She retired in 1969 and returned to Estherville. She has been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center since October of 1984. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

She was survived by a brother, Laurence Hanson of Estherville; two sisters, Genevieve Richey of Manly and Leora Anderson of Estherville; a sister-in-law, Eva Hanson of Estherville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and five brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 4, 1994)
