ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Virginia Juhl, 101, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with Pastor Doug Burton officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery in Estherville.
She died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.
Virginia (Murley) Juhl, the daughter of Thomas Burt and Lyla May (Olsen) Murley, was born Dec. 2, 1910, in Estherville.
She received her education in the Emmet County and Washington State schools.
On Dec. 4, 1930, she was united in marriage to Clarence Juhl in Aurora, Ill. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Estherville and Virginia helped Clarence with the farm and was a housewife. Virginia enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Clarence died in July of 1991.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville and belonged to several neighborhood clubs.
Left to cherish Virginia's memory are her children, Arvin Juhl; Dale Juhl and his wife, Bev of Estherville; grandchildren, Gordon Juhl and his wife, Brenda; Gloria Hansen and her husband Darryl; Gregory Juhl; Mary Welch and her husband, Rick; Phyllis Martens and her husband, Mike; Steve Juhl and his wife, Lora; Scott Juhl and his wife, Nicole; Katherine Griffith and her husband, Charlie; Jeff Kaltved and his wife, Susan; Kristy Vos and her husband, Joel; Wade Kaltved; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and one brother, Lyle Murley of Philadelphia.
She has been preceded in death by her husband; son, Dennis Juhl, and his wife, Jane; daughter-in-law, Shirley Juhl; siblings, Madeline; Sherril; Hansel; Helen; Avis; and twin-sister, Vivian. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 27, 2012)
