Estherville – Services for Lawrence Juhl, 77, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Dr. John Besore III officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Family and friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Juhl died Thursday, December 14, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Lawrence P. [Peters/Peter] Juhl was born August 16, 1912 at Reinbeck, Iowa to Christian and Christina (Peters) Juhl. He attended Reinbeck schools and completed his education in the Estherville schools after his family moved to the city in 1924. On October 12, 1935 he married Martha Wilhelms in Spirit Lake. Mr. Juhl was employed by the John Deere Implement dealership in Estherville for twenty-five years and the Emmet County Maintenance Department for fifteen years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Estherville.

Survivors include his wife Martha of Estherville; a daughter, Darlene Paulson of Estherville; a brother, Dale C. Juhl of Estherville; three sisters: Carrie Hoffmeyer of Estherville, Florence Hoffmeyer of Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. William (Maxine) Mahin of Chula Vista, Calif.; and one grandson, Greg Paulson of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 16, 1989)
