Estherville – Services for James Paul Johnson, 49, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Rick Capps officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery with full military graveside rites by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

He was born July 14, 1931 at Prince Frederick, Maryland, the son of Robert W. and Pauline (Glover) Johnson and received his education in Sunny Slope School at Phoenix, Ariz. On Oct. 18, 1980 he was united in marriage to Kathy Moore at Phoenix. He lived in New Jersey, Maryland and Iowa. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife Kathy of Estherville; three daughters: Kathy, Sharon and Seanna Johnson, all of Estherville; parents; one brother Tim of Bixby, Okla. and a sister, Vicki Andrade of Stayton, Ore. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 10, 1991)
