Alice Jepsen Jensen, 93 of Estherville, IA passed away Monday, May 12, 2003 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, IA. Funeral Service was held Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 1st Presbyterian Church in Estherville, IA with interment at East Side Cemetery in Estherville,IA.

Alice Lizzie Marie Jepsen was born July 16, 1909 to J. Peter and Lizzie (Naeve)Jepsen in Schleswig, IA. She received her education in the rural school system in Schleswig. Alice was united in marriage to Harvey Jensen Dec. 16, 1930 in Schleswig. They made their home in Estherville. She was employed by Balmer Nursing Home, Gardston Hotel and Lyon's Bakery. Alice was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Estherville. She enjoyed crocheting and making quilts.

She is survived by children and their spouses Norma Williams of Nazareth, PA, Glen and Bernice Jensen, Mary Lou and Donald Spoo, Walter and Lois Jensen of Estherville, Linda and Jon Lindquist of Lafayette, MN, Elaine and Alice Jensen and Janice and Don Buttons of Estherville, 18 grandchildren: six step-grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Mildred Jepsen of Ida Grove, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey Jensen in 1974, son-in-law Donald Williams, 1996; two brothers, Walter and Harley Jepsen and one great-grandchild. (MC)

Estherville – Funeral services for Alice Jensen, 93, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Mark Gabbard officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Monday May 12 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Alice Lizzie Marie Jepsen, the daughter of J. Peter and Lizzie (Naeve) Jepsen was born on July 16, 1909 in Schleswig, Iowa.

She received her education in the rural school system in Schleswig.

On Dec. 16, 1930, Alice was united in marriage to Harvey J. Jensen in Frieden’s Evangelical Church in Schleswig. The couple made their home in Estherville. Alice was employed by Balmer Nursing Home, Gardston Hotel and Lyon’s Bakery.

Alice was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Estherville. For hobbies she enjoyed crocheting and making quilts.

She is survived by her children, Norma Williams of Nazareth, Penn.; Glen Jensen and his wife, Bernice of Estherville; Mary Lou Spoo and her husband, Donald of Estherville; Walter Jensen and his wife, Lois of Estherville; Linda Lindquist and her husband, Jon of Lafayette, Minn.; Elaine Jensen of Estherville and Janice Button and her husband, Donald of Estherville; 18 grandchildren.

She has been preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Jensen on Dec. 7, 1974; son-in-law Donald Williams on Nov. 21, 1996 and one great-grandchild.
