Accident Victim Dies; Rites to Be Thursday
Kenneth Lee Jacobson of Des Moines, injured Nov. 9 in an automobile accident near Rutland, died Saturday [November 29, 1969] night at Bethesda Hospital in Fort Dodge where he had been hospitalized since the accident.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Estherville with the Rev. Dick Pearson officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Jacobson was born June 5, 1936 at Graettinger, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Jacobson of Wallingford.

He was graduated from Graettinger High School with the class of 1954 and graduated from the Utilities Engineering Institute in Chicago where he learned the trade of an auto body mechanic.

He was employed for five years at the Jensvold Motor Company in Emmetsburg, and at the time of his death was employed by Bob Brown Chevrolet in Des Moines.

He was married Aug. 2, 1959, to Mary Ann Vedder at the First Methodist Church in Estherville. Mrs. Jacobson is the daughter of Mrs. Kathryn Vedder and the late George Vedder of Estherville.

Besides his wife, Jacobson is survived by two daughters, Marilee 9, and Ann Marie 5; his parents, and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Lois) Torreson of Wallingford.

Pallbearers will be Donald Kuhn, Emmetsburg; Billy Thompson, Jr., Graettinger; Roger Henningson, Albert City; David Paulson, Greg Vedder, Estherville, and William Ridout of Denison. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 1, 1969)
