Estherville – Services for Arnold E. Jacobson, 68, of Estherville, will be held Saturday (today) at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1994 at Marian Health Center at Sioux City.

He was born Feb. 6, 1926 at Lake Wilson, Minn., the son of Eli and Marie Jacobson. He attended rural schools in southern Minnesota. He married Shirley Doucette on Oct. 20, 1956 in Antigo, Wis. The couple lived in Antigo several years, later moving to Ruthton, Minn. They moved to Estherville in 1971 where he worked as a farm equipment mechanic until retiring in 1992.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3388 in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Estherville; son Gary, and daughters: Mrs. Mick (Donna) Prather, Mrs. Monte (Debra) Hoffmeyer and Mrs. Arlo (Linda) Anderson all of Estherville and Mrs. John (Barb) Koskovich of South Sioux City, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; sisters: Anna Diemer and Bernice Jacobson both of Heron Lake, Minn. and a brother Clarence Jacobson of Murray, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 19, 1994)
