Death at 62 for Jackson
Lyle Jackson, 62, employee of Estherville City Light Plant, died yesterday at 1:20 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital of a heart ailment. Mr. Jackson had been hospitalized for five weeks.Lyle Ormand Jackson was born March 31, 1903, at Holstein, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Jackson. He received his education in Akron schools.
He was married to Bessie Ruth Bonney Jan. 20, 1923, at Sioux City, Neb.
Mr. and Mrs. Jackson moved to Emmet County in 1938. He operated Jackson’s Radio Shop here for several years and for the past 19 years had been an employee of the city light plant.
Mr. Jackson was a member of First Presbyterian Church and of the Masonic Lodge here. He had been a past master of the lodge at Alta.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Aubrey (Patricia) Cresap of Garden Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Duane (Joan) Hauser of Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Neva Campbell of Rowland, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services are to be Thursday, 2 p.m., at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday until time of services. Masonic graveside services will be held. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 15, 1966)
