Marvin Lande Succumbs to War Injuries
Funeral Monday in Springfield, Ill.
Marvin Lande, 38, died at O’Reilly hospital in Springfield, Ill., at 10:35 a.m. yesterday of complications from injuries he sustained in New Guinea during World War II. Mr. Lande is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lande of Estherville.

He has been in hospitals off and on since he was discharged from the armed services after the war.

He was born Oct. 12, 1913. Surviving his death are his parents; his brother, Irvin; and a sister, Mrs. Ernst Kretzschmer, an aunt, Mrs. John Lodden; an uncle, Ben Lande.

Funeral services will be Monday in Springfield and burial at the Springfield National cemetery. His mother and brother flew to Springfield yesterday. Mrs.Kretzschmer remained in Minneapolis to be with her father who is hospitalized there. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 7, 1951)
