Estherville – Services for Mrs. Earl (Lenora [Waldina]) Hornby, 87, of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died on Thursday, August 26, 1993 at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Minneapolis, Minn.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.

She was born on September 15, 1905 in Graettinger, the daughter of John and Bertha Hanson. She was united in marriage on October 18, 1928 to Earl Hornby at Estherville Lutheran Church. They were lifelong residents of the Estherville community, where she was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Redeemer Women of ELCA, the Garden Club and Riverside Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Stoa of Brooklyn Park, MInn., four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl on February 4, 1993, her parents, five sisters and five brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 30, 1993)
