Estherville – Services for Earl T. Hornby, 89, of Estherville, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1993 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale, Minn.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
He was born April 3, 1903 in Emmet County, Iowa, the son of Harry and Ida (Hasbrook) Hornby and attended Emmet County schools. On October 18, 1928 he married Lenora Hanson at Estherville Lutheran Church. He has lived and farmed all his life in Emmet County. Since 1947 he farmed the family farm, a Century Farm. He retired at the age of 80. He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Lenora, Estherville; daughter, Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Stoa of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; grandsons, Rev. Timothy Stoa, Thompson, N.D.; Scot Stoa, Great Falls, Mont. And Kristopher Stoa, Brooklyn Park; granddaughter Farah VandeVorste, Coon Rapids; sisters: Beulah Christensen and Eva Munson both of Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 6, 1993)
