Estherville – Services for Richard Hoffmeyer, 60, Estherville, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Jim Harmon of the Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Hoffmeyer died Tuesday [December 11, 1979] morning at the North Iowa Medical Center, Mason City.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after 3 p.m. Thursday until time of services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hoffmeyer, he was born June 18, 1919, near Huntington. He received his education in Huntington schools and was married to Grace Stam on July 26, 1938, at Rock Rapids. He lived his entire life in Emmet County and was employed in Jackson, Minn., at the time of his death.

Mr. Hoffmeyer is survived by his wife, Grace, Estherville; one son, Rodney Hoffmeyer, Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Marlys) James, Manchester, Calif.; Mrs. Ivan (Mariene) Brosh, Estherville, and Mrs. Dennis (Marsha) Titus, Emmetsburg; 18 grandchildren; seven brothers, August Hoffmeyer and Frank Hoffmeyer, both of Valley City, N.D., Floyd Hoffmyer, Petersburg, Minn., Bernard Hoffmeyer, Sherburn, Minn., Ryan Hoffmeyer, Estherville, Jessie Ray Hoffmeyer, Emmetsburg, and Earl Hoffmeyer, Armstrong; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Rickle, Valley City, N.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, six brothers and three grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 12, 1979)
