Estherville – Services for Ryan Walter Hoffmeyer, 85, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church with Dr. Robert Kunz officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Sunday, March 12, 1989 at Good Samaritan Center.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Nov. 26, 1903 at Ceylon, Minn., the son of Edward and Mary (Bettin) Hoffmeyer and attended Huntington School. Following school he was employed building elevators in Madison, Wis. for 11 years. On Nov. 18, 1933 he married Carrie Juhl at Sioux Falls, S.D. Following marriage he worked as building contractor from 1937 until retiring in 1973. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife Carrie, Estherville; son Donald, Estherville; daughter Mrs. Ray (Carol) Loring, Emmetsburg; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five brothers: August, Tower City, N.D.; Birney, Sherburn, Minn.; Earl, Armstrong and Jessie, Emmetsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 15, 1989)
