Kalamazoo, Mich. – Graveside services for Carlton Herbrandson, 78, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 1 p.m. at East Side Cemetery, Estherville, with the Rev. Everett Shaw presiding. Interment will be with full military services by V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91, of Estherville.Friend may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 11 a.m. Saturday.
He was born Feb. 25, 1914 at Estherville, the son of Joseph and Caroline (Guge) Herbrandson and attended Estherville Schools. He served in the United States Army during World War Two in the European Theater. He married Janet Goldsberry. He owned and operated Sanitary Supply in Estherville before moving to Waterloo in 1960. The couple later moved to Kalamazoo where he was a regional sales manager for a chemical company. He was affiliated with Cathedral Church in Kalamazoo.
Survivors include his wife, Janet, Kalamazoo; two sons and two daughters: Cynthia, Jean Ann and Gregg Herbrandson of Kalamazoo and Mark Herbrandson, Waterloo; two grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Lillian Herbrandson and Earl Herbrandson, Estherville; Florence Carlson, Memphis, Tenn. and Clarence Herbrandson, Spirit Lake.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; parents; sister and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 11, 1992)
