Estherville – Services for William H. Helmich, 70, of Estherville, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Glenn Bohmr officiating. Interment will be in East Side Memorial Cemetery with military graveside service by V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville. He died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1993 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

He was born April 19, 1923 at Dolliver, the son of William and Mary (Werling) Helmich and attended rural Emmet County schools. He was united in marriage with Gladys Haas on Mar. 8, 1943 in Estherville. He lived all his life in this area except during World War Two when he served in the United States Army stationed in Europe. Following marriage, the couple farmed northwest of Estherville. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of Estherville; sons: Roger and Eugene Helmich, Estherville; a daughter, Mr. Rodney (Diane) Winter of Inwood and one brother, Floyd of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 2, 1993)
