Estherville – Services for Ruth [Elaine] Helmers, 60, of Estherville have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 8, 1993 at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Burial will be at East Side Cemetery. She died on Saturday, June 5, 1993 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on February 28, 1933 in Long Beach, Ca., to Arthur and Sara (Weaver) Hite, and received her education in the San Pedro, Ca., Schools. She was united in marriage to John Harris [Helmers] on February 14, 1971 in Estherville.

She has lived in Estherville for more than 30 years and was employed by Upper Des Moines Opportunity. Ruth did various sewing and crocheting for many years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Louder of Elkton, S.D., Veronica “Sis” Giefe of Minneapolis, Min., and Rose Harris of Estherville; seven sons, Douglas Kramer of Redwood Falls, Mn., Jeff Kramer of Broken Arrow, Ok., Mike Ariston of Estherville, David Ariston of Lauton, Ok., and Carl Ariston of Strom Lake; twenty grandchildren; two brothers, David Hite of Phoenix, Ariz., and Virgil Hite of San Pedro, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who died in 1982, her parents, one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 7, 1993)
