Estherville – Services for Mrs. Tilla M. Heinrich, 91, Estherville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Wold officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery.Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday.
She was born August 10, 1890 at Newhall, Ia., the daughter of Heinrich Stien and Mary Kerkman Stien. She attended Newhall public school and German Lutheran Parochial School, also Cedar Rapids Business College. She was employed in office work several years in Omaha, Neb. and Portland, Ore. On Feb. 14, 1917 she married Charles G. Heinrich at Newhall; the couple farmed one year in Benton County before moving to Emmet County where they farmed near Gruver and moved into Estherville in March, 1957. Mr. Heinrich died in 1971. Mrs. Heinrich moved to the Good Samaritan Center in October, 1978.
She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Charter member of the Midway Country Club; Estherville Women’s Club; Church Circle; Redeemer 50 plus club, and past member of the Farm Bureau Women’s Chorus.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Jack (Mary Ann) Cairns, Portland, Ore., Ruth Haugen, Kenosha, Wisc., Eleanor Copeland, Dixon, Ill.; five children and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 brother, three sisters.
A memorial has been established for the Redeemer Lutheran Church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 19, 1982)
