Included in the visitors at the Denton home the past week from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Petersen of Saginaw, Michigan, and mother, Mrs. George Petersen, former resident of Clear Lake. Roy Petersen, former resident of Clear Lake assisted his father, George Petersen in the construction of the Denton Drug Store, the Titonka School Building, and the Telephone Office. Also included were Mr. and Mrs. Cardy Ash and daughter of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Mr. Ash’s sister, Inez and the brother and sister of Mrs. Oscar Hedwick of Estherville. The Ash family were residents of Titonka and Wesley many years ago. Oscar Hedwick, former brakeman on the “Klondyke” is very ill at St. Mary’s hospital at Estherville. Their daughter, Lois, and family are also residents at Estherville. The Hedwicks were married fifty years ago the 16th of August. (Titonka Topic, Titonka, IA, August 23, 1956)

Mr. Oscar Hedwick, resident of Estherville, passed away at 2:25 p.m. on Monday [August 27, 1956]. Mr. Hedwick was a former railroad brakeman in Titonka. Mrs. Oscar Hedwick is Iva Mae Ash, a former resident of Titonka. (Titonka Topic, Titonka, IA, August 30, 1956)
