Final Services Will be Tuesday for Elise Hecht
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home for Mrs. Albert (Elise) Hecht, 84, who died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday at the Balmer Nursing Home in Estherville. She had been ill for the past two years.

She was born March 9, 1885, at Mosheim, Germany, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ditzvel.

She came to the U.S. with her parents at the age of 12 to Carroll. On Sept. 8, 1909, she was married to Albert Hecht at Lytton at the home of her parents.

In 1927 they moved to Martin County, Minn., and farmed there until 1950 when they moved to Estherville. Hecht died Feb. 22, 1955. In 1957 she left Estherville to make her home with her daughter in West St. Paul, MInn.

Two years ago she returned to Estherville to make her home at the Balmer Nursing Home.

She is survived by one son, Wilfred, Sherburn, Minn.; one daughter, Valaria, Hecht, West St. Paul, Minn.; six grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bert Richard, Dupo, Ill., Mrs. Byron Smith, Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Alex Glasnapp, Estherville; and one brother, Henry Ditzvel, Lytton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters, husband and one daughter, Hilda, who died in 1951.

The Rev. Herbert Brase, retired minister, will officiate and burial will be in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday until time of services.

Pallbearers are Arnold Larsen, Russell Hecht, Allen Glasnapp, Harold Ditzvel, Keith, Boyer and Herbert Glasnapp. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 71, 1969)
