West St. Paul, Minn. – Services for Valaria Mildred Hecht, formerly of Estherville and Dunnell, Minn. will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Saturday, Feb. 17, 1990 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

There will be no visitation.

She was born Sept. 9, 1920 near Lytton, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Ditzel) Hecht and attended Emmet Consolidated School. She moved with her family to a farm north of Estherville and after attending business school worked at the Dunnell Bank for several years before moving to St. Paul where she worked for the Northwestern Bank for forty years. She continued to live in St. Paul after her retirement. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

She is survived by one brother, Wilfred Hecht, Jewell; one niece, Mrs. Shirley Boyer, St. Paul; four nephews, Robert Hecht, Alpha, Minn.; Russell Hecht, Estherville; Richard Hecht, Dunnell and Kenneth Hecht, Lincoln, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 21, 1990)
