Lois Harvey

Gruver – Services for Lois Harvey, 84, of Gruver, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Friday, Nov. 4, 1996 at Rosewood Manor Care Center, Estherville.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born April 21, 1912 at Reinbeck, the daughter of William and Nellie (Anderson) Stewart and attended school in Reinbeck and later moved with her parents to a farm in Estherville in 1925 and in 1929 moved to Blue Earth, Minn. On Aug. 20, 1930 she was united in marriage with Lewis Harvey at her parents’ farm near Blue Earth. After their marriage the couple farmed south of Gruver until January of 1957 when they moved into town. She moved to Rosewood in July of this year. She was a member of Gruver Presbyterian Church, Gruver Presbyterian Women and Lakeshore Country Club.

Survivors include daughters: Mrs. Victor (Hermina) Amoroso of Lawler, Mrs. John (Marlys) Kinnel of Palos Verde Estates, Calif., and Mrs. Dennis (Betty) DeVary of Estherville; 11 grandchildren: Patricia Hansen; Lorese Dykstra; Susan Strube, Norman Whitehouse; Darlene Donovan; Marlys Braun; Douglas Kinnel; Mike, Jeff, David and Mark DeVary; 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis in 1993; her parents; one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 2, 1996)
