Services for Ida Maria Harvey, 89, of Gruver will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 18 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery Estherville. She died Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. Friends may call Monday after 2:00 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville.
She was born May 12, 1901 in Swan Lake the daughter of Will and Susie (Grems) Harvey and was educated in Swan Lake schools. Never married, she was employed at the Gruver community school for several years and was a charter member of the Lake Shore country club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and also enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a fifty-year member of the First Presbyterian church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also involved with the United Presbyterian women.
She is survived by one brother, William Harvey of Gruver and three sister-in-laws: Margaret Harvey of Gruver, Minnie Harvey of Gruver and Gertrude Woods of Gruver. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; George, Edward and Robert. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1990)
