1887-1979
Estherville – Services for George Joseph Hasara, 92, Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Hasara died Monday [June 11, 1979] morning at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services Wednesday morning.

He was born April 19, 1887, at Streator, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hasara. He moved to Lakefield, Minn., with his parents as a boy, received his education in Lakefield schools and was married to Clara Havier on Sept. 28, 1909, at Jackson, Minn.

The couple farmed near Lakefield until 1945, when they moved to Estherville and he was employed as a security watch for John Morrell and Company until retiring. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Mr. Hasara is survived by one son, Fred Hasara, Sioux Falls, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenny (Margaret) Paulson, Harrisburg, Mo., Mrs. John (Irene) Williamson, Spirit Lake, and Mrs. Jack (Grace) Becklund, Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Hovel and Mrs. Sue Anderson, both of Lakefield.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 12, 1979)
