Estherville – Services for Rasmus Lawrence Hansen, 81, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Omodt officiating. Interment will be in East Dide Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1987 at his home. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Dec. 1, 1905 at Ruthven, the son of Chris and Mary (Jensen) Hansen. He attended Ruthven and Graettinger schools. On March 22, 1931 he was united in marriage with Verda Jeglum at Estherville. After their marriage they lived in Estherville where he worked for A.B.C. Wholesale Co., transferring to Ft. Dodge in 1941. He returned to Estherville in 1943. After returning to Estherville he worked with his brother henry in the Hansen Transfer Co., later working for the City of Estherville and Golden Sun Feeds until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Verda, Estherville; son Ronald, Estherville; two daughters, Doris Worms, Estherville and Mrs. Glen (Carol) Rost of Des Moines; five grandchildren; one brother Henry Hansen, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; five brothers and one grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 12, 1987)
