Estherville – Services for Marvin D. [Dean] Haas, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Rick Capps officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Friday, March 13, 1992 at Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

He was born Jan. 8, 1933 in Springfield Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, the son of Charles and Jessie (Sanders) Haas and attended Emmet Consolidated School. Haas served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived most of his life in Emmet County and farmed northwest of Estherville until his health failed. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He remained single.

Survivors include one brother, Elmer, Lakota; two sisters, Mrs. William (Gladys) Helmich and Mrs. Edna Billings, Estherville; one niece and eight nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 14, 1992)
