Estherville – Services for Mrs. Nellie J. Haas, 79, Estherville, will be Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Union Baptist Church, Estherville. The Rev. Fred Glasser will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. services, with burial to follow at the East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Mrs. Haas died Sunday, Jan. 22, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Born Feb. 27, 1898 to John and Elma (Bloomquist) Barlow in Wallingford, she finished her education in the Estherville schools. She married Corry Haas on Nov. 28, 1930 in Algona. After their marriage the couple lived in Estherville until the times of their deaths.

Mrs. Haas worked for a number of years at Hogget’s Cigar Company, Estherville, and was a member of the Union Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Maybelle Hoffmeyer and Mrs. Gladys Sifrit, and two brothers, Carl and Milton Barlow, all of Estherville.

Preceding her in death were her husband on May 4, 1976, her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Henry an Olson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1978)
