Estherville – Funeral services for Lila Bryan, 84, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Dwight Raddatz officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Lila was born on Nov. 17, 1918 in Wallingford, the daughter of Lewis and Petra (Waldon) Nelson. She received her education in the Wallingford schools.

On Nov. 6, 1937, she was united in marriage to Wayne Bryan in Spencer. They lived in Wallingford and moved to Estherville in 1960.

Lila was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Auxiliary both in Estherville.

Lila is survived by her husband, Wayne of Estherville; two sons, Ron Bryan and his wife, Diane of Des Moines; Richard Bryan of Sioux Falls, S.D.; five grandchildren; and also by two sisters, Bertha Olson of Estherville; and Palma Pool of Albert Lea, Minn.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, son, Roger; one brother, Laverne and three sisters: Nora Martyr, Gladys Robinson and Myrtle Osher. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 11, 2003)
