Estherville – Services for W. [William] Howard Bryant, 79, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, April 3, 1989 at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1910 at Plover, the son of William and Clara (Jolliffe) Bryant and attended Plover High School graduating from high school in 1930, he attended Morningside College in Sioux City for one year. He worked for the CCC in Milford from 1933-36. On Oct. 23, 1937 he married Helen Witt at Sioux Falls. They lived in Emmetsburg before moving to Terril in 1946. He worked at the Davis Packing Co., later at Morrell Pkg. Co. until 1974. They moved to Wallingford in 1958 and into Estherville in 1987. He worked at Wolden Park for several years after retiring.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, Oddfellows and Rebekah Lodge, Morrell Retirees and Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife Helen; two sons: Gale and Larry, Estherville; two daughters: Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Wells, Estherville and Mrs. Loren (Joann) Prange, Farmington Hills, Mich.; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four brothers: Jesse, Newton, Evered, Bryon and George all of Emmetsburg; and one sister Mrs. Laura Dammann, Emmetsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 6, 1989)
