Glenn Story Dies Tuesday
Glenn Story, 60, Estherville city clerk for 26 years, died at his home last night from a heart attack. He was born April 21, 1911, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Fred and Mabel [Finch] Story. He moved with his family to Estherville at the age of four and received his education in the Estherville schools.

On June 9, 1933, he was married to Dorothy Gruwell at Estherville. He worked for Sconberg and Kilgore Grocery Store. He was an agent for New England Life Insurance Co. until he joined the U.S. Airforce. He served two years in England during WW II.

He became city clerk in 1945 and held that position for the past 26 years. He served as city clerk and superintendent of public works for a year and a half. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served on the board of trustees for several years. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. and past exulted ruler and district deputy. He was past president of State Municipal Finance Officers Association and cited by Gov. Norman Erbe as an honorary citizen of Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Story, at Rosewood Manor; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Thelma) Rasmussen of Petersburg, Minn., and Mrs. Cecil (Kathryn) Christensen of Ringsted; and three nephews, Jerome Rasmussen and Craig and Cecil Christensen.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Irwin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. H. Allan Wirtz officiating. Burial will be at East Side cemetery.

Friends may call anytime Thursday until noon Friday when the body will be taken to lie in state at the church.
