Roswell William "Ross" Bixby 1868-1939

Word was received by Chas. Bixby of the death of his brother, Roswell Wm. Bixby last Tuesday morning. He passed away in a hospital in Detroit, Mich., last Monday evening.

He has one son Harry but at this time his whereabouts is not known. He was supposed to have been with his father a short time ago.

The remains will be shipped to this city for burial in the family lot in the East Side cemetery. Funeral services will be held from the Mahlum and Anderson funeral parlors on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.

“Ross” as he was always known among the early days here left Estherville when a boy and has only returned a few times. He was married and reared two sons. Only Harry survives. He is a brother of Chas. and Archie Bixby of this city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, July 13, 1939)
