Estherville – Services for Mary Elaine Blair, 69, of Estherville, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Iverson of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Thursday, August 11, 1994 at Holy Family Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1925 near Jacksonville, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Luella (Lautrup) Hansen and attended country school near Harlan, and graduated from Harlan High School. She then attended Normal School in Storm Lake and received her teacher’s training. She taught two years in country school. On Aug. 1, 1946 she was united in marriage to Victor Blair in the Church of Christ at Jefferson. Following marriage the couple lived in Harlan and Corley before moving to Estherville on Jan. 1, 1960. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Estherville.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Connie) Hanson, and son Gary Blair, a grandson, Ryan Hanson, all of Estherville, and son Gary Blair, a grandson, Ryan Hanson, all of Estherville and one brother, Russell Hansen of Spirit Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 1, 1983 and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1994)
