James Bell’s Services Set Saturday
Estherville – James Lafe Bell, 69, of Estherville died Wednesday [August 14, 1974] morning at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Bell was born March 2, 1905 at Freetown, Ind., son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Bell.

Funeral services for Mr. Bell will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Union Baptist Church in Estherville with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 o’clock tonight until noon Saturday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Mr. Bell received his education in Indiana schools and on Nov. 19, 1942, was married to Clara Pinkelman at Jackson, Minn. He came to Estherville in 1939, where he was a member and trustee of the Union Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sons, Clayton of Michigan City, Ind., and Lloyd of Denver, Colo; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Dickes of Hartington, Neb., and Mrs. Thelma Millage of Vermillion, S.D.; and three brothers, Arthur of Center, Neb., Ancil of Bloomfield, Neb., and Alva of Vermillion, S.D. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 15, 1974)
