1895-1978
Estherville – Mrs. Cotta Katherine Behrens, 84, Estherville, died Monday [December 18, 1978] morning at the Milford Nursing Center.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Ronald Flentgen officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until noon Thursday.
Mrs. Behrens was born July 26, 1895, at Prosser, Neb., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Mueller. She received her education in Nebraska and was married to William F. Behrens on June 25, 1922, at Coon Rapids. They farmed near Coon Rapids until 1950, when retiring and moving to Estherville.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Behrens is survived by three sons, Harold Behrens, Spirit Lake, Arno Behrens, Waterloo, and William Behrens, Jr., Swea City; four daughters, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Burns, Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Margaret Hiles, Wallingford, Mrs. Art (Doris) Schultz, Skaneateles, N.Y., and Mrs. Oliver (Lois) Fillmore, Pensacola, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Herbert Mueller, Osage, August Mueller, Minneapolis, Minn., Bruna Mueller, Kahoka, Mo., and Albert Mueller, Norristown, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Ort Bliech, Hampton, and Mrs. Esther Clark, Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 20, 1978)
