Estherville – Servicers for Harry M. Bauman, 90, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John P. Besore III officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, Oct. 12, 1992 at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born July 24, 1902 at Lakota, the son of Harry Sr. and Ida (Haupfleish) Bauman. He moved to Estherville with his parents in 1905 where he attended school, after which he worked on the Rock Island Railroad from 1921-1929; 1929-1935 operated a Star Mail Route between Estherville and Lakota. On Nov. 23, 1932 he was united in marriage with Bertha Cook at Lakefield, Minn. He owned and operated the Estherville Hardware Store from 1935 until retiring in 1960. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, past member of North Star Masonic Lodge and B.P.O.E. Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha, Estherville; a daughter, Mary Johnson, grandson, Grant Johnson, and granddaughter Andrea Johnson all of Minneapolis; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 14, 1992)
